THE MTC FOOD IS A LIE!!!

Everyone says it is great, but it is really only decent. Good food is decent and bad food is decent. all over decent.

おはいおございますかぞく!

Tell takoda I said hi and that I will pray for him and we get ice cream every day hahaha
                                                                               (shimai)
So this week I gave my first blessing to one of the しまい in our district, Gibbs しまい. It was actually pretty cool, really unlike a prayer. I felt more like all I had to do was start a sentience and the spirit would finish it, which was really cool haha cuz otherwise I wouldn't have known what to say...
One of our 2 investigators that we teach here dropped us cuz a lot of our district wasn't working as hard as they could have been, or I guess some of us weren't taking it seriously, so that was a bit of a "you all suck to high heaven and you will fail as missionaries" moment for us haha
we actually broke 2 records at the same time, the first being an entire district being dropped at once and second is that we were unable to go back to teach them to learn why they dropped us.
                                                                                                                                                             (choro)                                                                                                                  (sensei)
It kinda woke up most of us (I think I had already realized that we sucked, so I think me and Peters ちょろ were actually doing decently) but it was freaky at the same time cuz our 先生 is this really big guy who could kill any of us with one hand and he was ticked haha

So random story time!

Peters ちょろ gets bored at night sometimes, so he goes to visit other rooms in our dorms. so anyways, this night he goes to the Nihonjin room to talk to them. Eventually, long story short, they had a party with 30+ elders, some in towels or with shaving cream on their faces, 5 different flashlights and a strobe light, and some very freaked out nihonjin haha
The oddest part was that in the middle of this 10 minute party they all start chanting "shuchu, shuchu, shuchu" which means focus haha

So rules were broken, but it was all good cuz me and Hutchings ちょろ were chilling in our room and anyways, our zone leaders were part of the party haha

Thanks for your guys prayers and I pray for all of you all the time, expecially Takoda right now :)

Boom da Doom song

Konichiiwa!

You guys are all crazy, I hope you know...
So first off I am glad that grandma has died so she doesn't have to suffer anymore :) it was actually kinda funny cuz I read dads e-mail a couple days ago during TALL(Technology Assisted Language Learning) time with our district, so I told Peters choro that my grandma had died and the shimaitachi behind us heard me and they all almost simultaneously were like, whaaaattt?!?!?! and it was funny, so I laughed. Not a good idea to laugh after telling somebody your grandma just died :S they all thought I was joking until I had one of them read the letter, and then they were like, its funny your grandma died? and I was all like, nah, that's a good thing cuz she had cancer and was in pain, so one of the shimai was like, I don't really know what to say to that.... I'm sorry? but I guess that doesn't work cuz its a good thing...
It was pretty funny cuz none of them had any idea what to say

so yeah... stuff is good here... I am not really more awake, but I am used to being tired now, so its not so bad haha
Its kinda cool to think that on Friday I will have been here a month... sometimes it feels like a week and others it feels like forever.

Daddio fatman, ever heard of spell-check? not to mention that you misspelled my name :P

Kazoku wa ie ni o-haiyo! I have a letter coming for you guys that I sent today. make sure to let me know if you change the way you read them, cuz I have been writing them for the setting of being read in devotional, e-mails & letters.
I forgot to grab my card reader but I don't really have any new pics to hit you up with, so its not a big loss...

Random story time!

Once upon a time there was a family of mice. There were 3 baby mice and one mama mouse. One day they went for a walk through the field along the path when all of a sudden, ROWAR! a giant cat jumps out in front of them! Without thinking the mama mouse jumps in font of her babies and goes ARF AARF RUFF! and the cat runs away. Then the mama mouse turns to her 3 babies and says "now you know why mama always taught you to learn a second language!"

I need story requests from you guys so you hear about what you want, cuz we have funny stories in everywhere you can think of.

Random story #2:

So we were in the gym playing four-square(the only game I play decently) and the ball is coming really low at me, so I hit it into the square next to me as hard as I can. sadly, I was at an angle and the line of waiting people was right next to that square :S
So the ball hits the corner and takes someone from the line out in the worst way possible.... I felt really bad cuz he rolled around in pain on the ground for about 5 minutes, and was limping the rest of the day...

anyways, we are gonna go finish laundry, so I may come to e-mail more, I may not

Pictures

this is peters choro in the front and hutchings choro in the back and the 2 shimai are gibbs and holt shimai, but thats just their backs cuz they are focused on e-mailing

THIS IS AN E-MAIL, IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING!!!

ISo yeah.

O-haiyo gozaimasu to all my kazoku!

am sleepy again, which seems to be common around the MTC haha... it was awesome to get all the letters from everybody :) haley, dad, and kadin are slacking though haha pick up the pace! speaking of, haley and tyson if you give me your mailing addresses I would love to write back and forth with you guys.

So random story time, my district at night get bored, and tired, which makes us all a little slaphappy... so we had changed classrooms a couple days ago to one where the window has a better view of the main courtyard in the day, but at night with our lights on we can't see out at all and everyone outside can see in.
so anyways, we all are in slaphappy state and Hardin choro and Peters choro grab their ties and start singing into them like they are mics, while all of us are dancing in our chairs and clapping to the music, sometimes singing along when we know the words. with our district when we get bored its either zombies or music to help relieve the boredom.... so anyways, we are all in concert mode rocking out, when Hutchings choro hits the light and we all look out the window to see a large crowd has gathered outside and is watching us
As soon as they saw the lights go off they all turned around almost simultaneously, which made it even funnier :) after laughing our heads of in the dark for about 30 seconds we all sat back in our desks, went straight-faced, and turned the lights back on. one of the shimai checked out the window and reported that all the people watching looked really confused and left

andywayds,,,,,, we all are having a lot of fun. I sent you guys a letter, or will have by the time you read this prolly, so yeah...

the pictures are how I defend my twizlers and the other is a note our teacher left us that we had to translate in order to teach the lesson of that day.

I dunno what to write, so have a sentince in japanese!

Kamisama wa Brooksby choro no kazoku ga daisuki desu!

see if you can figure it out without google translator or anything like it. I use this sentince or similar ones like this all the time when I'm teaching, so its kinda helpful to know how to say. you say Kamisama & kazoku the way they are spelled, daisuki like "Die, Ski!" and desu like dess

watashi wa kazoku ga suki desu <3

Sleep?

It kindof feels like we won't get a good nights sleep until we get back :S
My choros and I were wondering why you got your money taken away, like did they think you were undercover spies who were going to bomb whatever big landmarks they have there or something?
One of the shimai that my doryo knows is going to portugal and we just said goodbye to her this morning, so you should watch out for her. her name is sister Beard and she is decently attractive, so you will probably spot her haha
Today is my 21st day at the MTC and I am tired as heck... I think some of the language is finally starting to click tho, which is nice.
Thanks for the letter. Its kinda cool to get a letter you weren't expexting haha I bet you know the feeling

funny thing is that me and my doryo share a middle name. it was like, *connection made*, and we were cool haha. his name is robert peters, but people used to call him robby, and now we call him elder :P
These names are a bit confusing sometimes with all the "Elder ____" and "Sister ____", like at gym yesterday a shimai asked me my name and I was all like, "Trey, I mean, Brooksby, ugh, Elder Brooksby" :S cuz everyone in gym just calls me brooksby...
anywayssss...... sleep is good, focus is better, spirit is best, so sleep to focus on the spirit when you are awake. I know my district has problems focusing sometimes so we just pull up a conference talk on the computer and get the spirit, then the focus comes and I sleep easier at night.

Another new thing here is that tommorow they are trying a new thing out where they have hot dog stands for dinner on thursday & friday that have teryakii stix, subway, and pizza, so it sounds pretty awesome :P they are trying it out because tomorrow is when all the high school students start coming in, and we will be packed... we get 2 new gaijin(foregn to japan) districts in our branch and a total of 5 gaijin districts overall. there used to only be 1 nihongo(japanese) branch but they split to 2 a week before we got here and last week we split to 3, so there are going to be a lot of us. next week we get a group of nihonji(japanese natives) who stay for 2 weeks and leave with our DaiSenpai(big leader/more experenced) group. as of this wednesday we will be senpai and the newbies we call kohei.

Knowing today was P-Day i slept(or lay in bed) for 20 extra minutes while the others did exercises to wake up, and i'm not sure who is the most awake at the moment haha. Elder Brooksby, our sleep schedule will be screwed when we get home....

well, gonna go get laundry in a sec, so talk to you next week I guess...

Heyo family!

So if you guys sent me any e-mails I wouldn't have gotten them because there were some errors with duplicate accounts and such, so this is my new e-mail! (also i'm sorry if i have the address on my letter wrong but i was brain dead and couldn't think, that is if you even got it haha)
Anyways, there has been a heckton of stuff going on, but it sufficeth me to say, Japanese seems really hard but our sensei is amazing, so it isn't really that hard. I already have hirigana memorized and just last night finished learning bases(hate these) and particles. a lot of the language didn't make sense when I was learning it, but with this new stuff it all makes sense, or at least i can understand what i'm saying and why i say it that way. If i ever speak Japanese in my e-mails it will be in romaji(Rominazation/English characters) so you guys can at least read it, even if your pronunciation sucks(that means you, dad).

So in our district(classroom) we have 10 people, 6 shimai and 4 choro's(sisters/elders) so the shimai outnumber us, but that means we only have 4 in our dorm room, while they are full up. My companion, Peters choro, reminds me a lot of Tyson, but without that mature side haha. We also have Hardin choro and the other choro with the name I can't remember right now. We all get along pretty well, and for dad's information peters choro does chew with his mouth open and i don't even notice :P (not happy face tongue out).

We are really busy all the time, so it feels weird to sit down and not be studying... especially in jeans haha. my P-day is on tuesdays, so expect me online at that time. if you want me to e-mail back and forth e-mail me a single letter so i know you are online.

Mom I am not missing much here but my grey sweater, a laundry bag would be nice, an SD card reader, and i forgot the other thing but its obviously not important because i forgot it haha.(if i have any of these in my bag let me know)

I'll upload some pics with one of the shimais card reader so you can see some of the things or places or whatever i took pictures of, cuz i feel bad that i missed any e-mails you guys sent. ah dang it isn't working so i guess i'll send some later.

Not homesick at all yet, but I am thinking about you guys and hoping takoda remembers to stay away from moving cars. I would love letters but i forgot to bring my address card so just wait for my letter or next week when i will hopefully remeber to brong it :) also mom if you could put the PO box and mailing address in an e-mail so i know how to address my letters that would be amazing.

I love you all and hope you don't die, because then i would have to leave here to go to your funeral, then come back and study again haha

Love you all!

Ps. My doryo(companion) and me share the same middle name haha
